Prairie Lakes is the primary reason I am recovering from a fractured ankle. The administration is always present for questions. The nurses are professional and the aides are compassionate, sincere, and caring. The P.T. and O.T. therapists were top-notch, constantly trying to improve your condition. The food was very good and the desserts were fabulous! The social activities are varied and the staff goes out of their way to include everyone in activities, always with a smile, including religious gatherings of varied denominations. Even the maintenance staff was friendly and helped me when requested.

Short term care and recovery cannot be compared to long term care @ Prairie Lakes Health Campus or any facility for that matter. The care plan, treatment, options, meals, toileting/personal hygiene, PT/OT, activities, medication administration, staff interaction AND subsequent discharge are not akin to long term residents. If Prairie Lakes can provide such wonderful care to their short term residents they may need to rethink their service options. Unfortunately they will continue to operate under the guise of providing adequate care to all. I'm just wondering how many more residents will die directly or indirectly at the hands of Prairie Lakes. I also continue to question their hiring practices especially for their nurses; R.N.s and LPN's…are thorough background checks being done? These are folks dispensing meds to our loved ones!!! The in.gov website provides a myriad of information on licensed professionals, their current standing and past "issues", sanctions and license revocation.
