Review of Prairie Lakes Health Campus

2 Star User Review

When selecting any nursing home or health care facility, it is important to note that the facility is only as good as the administration will allow. Over the last 31/2 years, Prairie Lakes Health Campus has had an extremely high turnover rate with regard to their Executive Director, Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, nursing unit mgrs., and Social Services Director. Virtually a revolving door! This is not an effective management tool nor does it promote a positive environment for the staff providing the actual care for your loved ones. If you are seeking care for a specific condition, do your homework, many facilities will tell you they can meet your needs and this is simply not true. Dementia for example: Overall, the Prairie Lakes staff has basic continuing education hours for dementia education, there are a few nurses with more advanced training. As a team, they lack the overall knowledge, training and ability to deliver consistent quality dementia care. Most of the nurses, aids, therapists and ancillary staff are caring, empathetic employees but are constrained by incompetence within the hierarchy.
