Review of Bethel Pointe Health and Rehab

2 Star User Review

My dad lives in Bethel Pointe, and he frequently tells me that staff often fail to respond to his room buzzer in a timely way. My father needs assistance in getting to the bathroom, but sometimes he has to wait for up to 20 minutes after he has buzzed for assistance before an aide comes to his room. The buzzer board is located at the nurses' station, so the buzz is hard to ignore. Still, there are times when I pass by the nurses' station and hear staff talking about personal issues instead responding to buzzes.

For the most part, staff show professionaliam, but I have found that they often lack follow-through skills. My father has told me that sometimes he makes a request of staff, and the staff promise to fulfill the request, but they often fail to follow through.

A key concern I have is that Bethel Pointe does not have enough nurses and care-provider aides to assist residents. The nurses and aides often appear to be overwhelmed with their workload.

On a positive note, the building is kept clean, although I sometimes smell urine as I pass by residents' rooms. Residents' rooms are cleaned each day and thoroughly cleaned (floors mopped and waxed, curtains washed, etc.) frequently. Although the food is not the best, it is nutritious. Residents are provided with a monthly activities calendar that contains a variety of daily activities.
