Review of Addolorata Villa

If your loved one is suffering from dementia or alzheimers..please do not place them in this facility. Although the facility itself is well taken care of…the residents are not.

Staff was untrained for this type of skilled nursing and residents were left unattended many times, with little stimulation or skill appropriate activities. Loud TV's and music seemed to be there solution to relieving the restlessness and confusion. Consequently, my mother finally fell in her room and severely broke her wrist. The facility refused to take her back into the unit with a broken wrist. They insisted we place her in their horrible nursing/rehab until her wrist healed. We forced the issue and she was readmitted with added care needed. She fell less than a eek later..in her room and broke her other wrist and shattered her pelvis. She died 3 days later from her injuries, which escalated her dementia into fatal end stage. She died with 2 black and blue arms in casts and suffered pain and confusion in her last hours. The hospital demanded she be sent to the Cook County Coroner, who deemed her death a result of her injuries. So sad, and not neccessary that this happened. Please check staff training and certification before you place anyone in one of theses places. We could have sued…but Mom needed to rest in peace. I am just warning others..be careful of Facades!
