VERY HAPPY with the care our family member received. Nurses very attentive, compassionate and kind. CNAs very helpful. The whole place is very clean, smell is good, residents are well kept and taken care of, fed well. Lots of activities for them to do. I highly recommend this home for your loved ones.

My grandma was admitted to Dixon Healthcare in Sept. 2012 after a hospital stay, and wound up being forced to stay there until December. They originally told us we could take her out or at least transfer her some place else whenever we wanted no problem. Then they kept extending her stay and riding it out as long as they could, and said if we took her out against their orders her whole stay would come out of our pockets.

This is a horrible nursing home and I feel sorry for the residents here. My grandma frequently complained of having to wait long periods of time (up to half an hour in some instances) when she buzzed for help. I once found a woman crying out in the hallway because she had to go to the bathroom so bad. I stopped 2 different nurses asking them to please help her and they said someone would come and walked off. Most of the help there are useless and don't want to do anything and they are extremely stupid. They messed up my grandma's insulin so her blood sugar levels were always running dangerously high or low. Also, they forced her to sleep in a broken bed that was also too short for her and claimed they would get her a different one but never did the whole time she was there. Not only that, but they cheapened their food while she was there and it is disgusting. Oh, and they only gave her 2 showers when she was there for months!

If you can send your relative some place else I strongly recommend you do. My whole family was disgusted by this place. There are a few nurses who are actually really caring and helpful, but for the most part they are really understaffed and most of the CNA's are lazy. Awful nursing home!

My grandma is temporarily at Dixon Healthcare and Rehab Center. She's complained to me about not being helped right away when she requests assistance to go to the bathroom. And today when I went to go visit her I heard a woman crying out in the hallway so I went to make sure she was alright, she begged me to take her to the bathroom. I asked two nurses to help her, both told me someone was coming and walked off and the poor woman had to wait forever before someone finally cared enough to help her. It really disgusted me.

Some of the nurses are very helpful and nice, but there's also some who are really slow and not attentive enough. A lot of times when I go visit my grandma, many of them are just standing around talking to one another and not doing much.

I will say that they do feed everyone well. My grandma says the food is always good and they give you plenty to eat. The place seems clean enough, although my grandma said the large bathroom they sometimes take her too, seemed a little dirty. There's also a lot of different activities for residents to take part in.

My biggest complaint has to do with some of the nurses not being professional enough, usually the younger ones and there not being enough help to go around.

This facility is clean and there are many caring people who work here. Some CNAs are wonderful, some less than adequate. The activities people are about the best I've seen anywhere. The downfall of the facility is its administration. You rarely see them in the hallways and they don't seem to care enough to get to know their residents as individuals. My father was a resident there for awhile. We removed him to a better facility when he developed pressure sores and we were not notified. He was also being mis-medicated. I still have friends who live here who also have pressure sores so I wonder how these get reported to the state. If you spend any time here, you will see that the call lights do not get answered in a timely manner. My friends who live here tell me that it's bad enough during the day, but at night they have had to wait from 45 - 90 minutes to have their call light answered. When we moved my father to a different nursing home, my family quickly realized that good administration is key to a good nursing home. This is where Franklin Grove is sadly lacking.

I would not let them take car of my bog. My father was in there for one year. He was abused and had bruising on his arms from where they grabbed him. I called the state and the even said It's abuse. Don't put your loved one there. It's a very very bad place. MY RATING IS 0

Very mediocre. The staff is the downfall of this facility.

Attention is never paid to residents until the last minute, staff is borderline abusive to residents and fellow staff members alike.

There seems to be no incentive for these employees to excel, therefore, such little pride in their work.

My father has been a resident of the FGNC since June of 2010. As with any nursing home, the thought of having a loved one living there is a very difficult decision. Our family looked at quite a few nursing homes in the area and decided that FGNC would be the best place for him. And as of this date (9/6/2011), none of his family members have regretted making that decision.

Every time any of his family members have gone to see Dad/Grandpa, he looks great. He is clean, shaven and dressed for the day. His room is always clean and his bed is made. Dad is very happy here.

The best part about the facility is the staff. They are always friendly, very helpful, and compassionate. I feel a sense of community between the staff, the residents and their families which is great. FGNC is always clean and smells good compared to other nursing homes that I have been in.

For the individual(s) who posted the dissatisfaction with the care for their Dad, I sure hope that you brought it to the attention of the senior staff or administrator immediately. If not, I strongly urge you to do so. They cannot make sure it never happens again if they are not informed. No family wants to see their Dad in that situation. Our family has never experienced or witness this kind of treatment.

With regards to the comment, “if this place wasn’t so cheap” I can only reply that our family is paying on average $5300.00 a month and we do not think that is CHEAP.
