Upon my first visit today.. Horrid is best description I can give. The staff and the facility. It's a for profit facility so I'd question any 'positive' reviews based on what I encountered today.

I have read through these reviews and I think it is a shame that ex employees come on here and write reviews. I tried to post this reposne a week ago but I am not great with computers.
I moved my mother to tower hill about 6 years ago and I visit about once a week. When I brought mom here she was out of state with a family member and being neglected. the family member was only keeping her for her money. there were a lot of issues with money and Kendra worked hard on her case for a couple years and got the Medicaid approved. I read these and feel bad that she gets a bad rep from staff. she is the only upper management I see walking around and telling staff to get the resident pull lights. I know there has been changes in some staff and I hope it is for the better but right now she is the only one with a presents.
sorry this was so long. I recommend tower hill and they do a good job.

Generous at 1 star.TOTALLY UNDERSTAFFED. 1/2 ARE EXCELLENT THE OTHERSHOULD NOT BEIN ELDERLY CARE. FOOD IS VERY BAD SERVED COLD. NURSING CARE WITHDRUGS 50% POOR. BAD MISTAKES WITH MEDS.EXECUTIVE STAFF VERY GOOD. BUT LIMITED STAFF MAKES THINGS DIFFICULT.I AM SURE THIS IS AN INDUSRY WIDE PROBLEM. CALL BBUTTON WAIT IS ABOUT AS POOR AS IT CAN GET. SOMETIMES AS LONG AS 2 HOURS. EVEN LONGERMANY TIMES

This facility is great! I have had nothing but great experiences. I have spoken to both Vick the administrator and Monica at all hours to address questions and they are always happy to help. Even at 10:00 at night. I have seen other comments about appearance of staff which is uncalled for and not relative to care. Kendra the Business office person is mean and rude but will help if you go above her.
If I didn't like the facility, I wouldn't keep my mom there.

This nursing home defines what poor care is all about. It needs to be shut down…

STAY AWAY!!! The place looks ok… Out of date, but alright. House keeping staff and maintenance are great. Nurses & CNAs are great, but very short staffed and over worked. The department head staff is extremely rude and fake. Kendra (the HR rep that claims to be the "corporate business manager") has a complex on her you wouldn't believe. Rude & ignorant would be putting it politely. Vicki the administrator is a fake as they come. She kisses your ass and pretends to like you, but as she's turning away rolls her eyes and has this lovely way of making her attitude sound good (except I can see through it). She's very snotty and has an "I'm better than you" attitude. She dresses inappropriately too. She is too big to be dressing in tight club wear type attire. Is it really appropriate to be having your muffin top & chest hanging out of your clothing. Kendra dresses like she wants to be a vampire with a nasty tattoo that is right between her cleavage that she proudly displays for the residents. They also like to cover up stories and make excuses for their mistakes. They accept responsibility for nothing, push it off on the staff & try to distract you with other stuff. Instead of throwing all of these unnecessary parties, try taking that money and putting it into better staff, more supplies, upgrades to the facility, anything but this fake front you put on when the families are there. The residents aren't changed on time, there have been times I've walked in and my mom's roommate is soaked in urine. They're clothes are dirty, they smell. Really pay attention to the 2 star facility. Look elsewhere!

Asbury Gardens Nursing & Rehab North Aurora, Illinois 60542
My mother was a resident of the Asbury Garden assisted living facility. She went into the hospital and then needed to go into the Asbury Nursing and Rehab facility. She had been there for approximately 1 1/2 months. I have everything good to say about the Rehab and Nursing experience. The staff is very, very friendly. By the time my mothers stay was over I felt like I made some new friends. But onto the most important things…..This facility is very clean, and updated. I felt my mothers care was excellent and couldn't be more happy that this is where she went for rehab. The staff was very attentive to her needs and requests. They encouraged her when she needed encouragement. My mother is a feisty person, knows what she wants, and can be rather difficult at times. The staffs response to her went above and beyond what I ever expected. I am thankful to those who cared for her and worked with her. It takes a special person to care for and work with the elderly and at this time, Asbury Rehab and Nursing facility has those type of people. I would highly recommend this facility.

Beware of release process. Social Services failed in providing in home therapy arrangements, in home care taker service and providing take home medication.

South Elgin Rehab & Health Care Center South Elgin, Illinois 60177
This place is disgusting! It is dirty, smells bad, and the patients are not cared for. They have Scabies and do not care enough to provide the care that the people need to get better.
River View Rehab Center Elgin, Illinois 60123
If I could give it less than a 1 I would. This place has really changed in the past few months. They are neglecting the patients, understaffed, and no one cares. It smells bad and is dirty.
Presence Mcauley Manor Aurora, Illinois 60506
McAuley once had a great reputation as a wonderful and caring facility, but just recently with new management (and the recent merger of Provena & Resurrection), the care has declined drastically, no fault of the wonderful caregivers there. The culpability falls within managements' power. Recently there have been many senior falls with serious life-threatening injuries due to the cutting down of nursing staff hands-on care. Just within 3 weeks - 18 seniors had fallen, some with head injuries and fractures, resulting in 2 possible deaths pending a TEN day Illinois Department of Public Health investigation. How many of you can testify that your loved one did not receive the proper medication within a timely manner detrimental to their health and were not properly screened so the facility's' wonderful staff can take care of them properly? Look up the administrator's (Mr. J. Standish) healthcare background, or the lack thereof, and see for yourself if he knows what he's doing. It's all public knowledge. The activity department? SAD, SAD, SAD. Why? Not because of the wonderful activity department personnel, but because they are denied funds by management/corporate. However, did you hear about the $147 million dollar medical building - PRESENCE HEALTH (the largest non-for-profit Catholic Healthcare Organization in Illinois) is building down-town-Chicago on your loved ones $$$$? There is good reason why census is LOW and once dedicated staff members have moved on, not sharing in McAuley's ignominy. In fact some of their most dedicated and caring caregivers initiated and participated in this investigation, risking their jobs for the safety of their patients! Bless all of you. Call the Illinois Department of Public Health for an update on their 10 day investigation to see what they found. After all isn't your loved one worth it?

I was there for rehab aa month or so ago. I have been in a total of 3 different places for rehab for different things. I must say, this was by far the best of them. The staff were so attentive and really did everything they could for me. The socialworker even called me a couple weeks after my discharge to follow up. They are wonderful people. If I ever need to go to a place for rehab again, they would be my first choice.
River View Rehab Center Elgin, Illinois 60123
This place is awful! They don't give the resident's the things they need, even basics like wheelchairs. The state should go in and shut this place down. I don't know why anyone would place a loved one there.
Tower Hill Healthcare Center South Elgin, Illinois 60177
My mom just passed away at Tower Hill after five years. Every time I had any issue with Mom's care, it was handled right away as long as I went to the right people. Some of the management staff are hard to get in touch with, but once you do they make sure to answer your questions. I have read these reviews and they are not at all what I experienced. My mom thrived at Tower Hill.
Bria of Geneva Geneva, Illinois 60134
They are awful!! They injured my relative and blamed on faulty equipment, failed to remove her teeth which she cannot due and lost them. Takes 25 mins for them to notice the nurse light comes turns it off and comes back in 15 mins. The activities are laim to say the least. They fail to put on clothing covers or keep the residents hands and nails clean which leads to bacteria. Could go on and on.
Tower Hill Healthcare Center South Elgin, Illinois 60177
A great place for your family member. My aunt came here 2 weeks ago and has thrived. The CNA's are very caring and the nurses have picked up on things that her previous facility dropped the ball on. I am now looking for a facility for my uncle who lives out of state but we are considering moving him here. So happy to have found this place.
Tower Hill Healthcare Center South Elgin, Illinois 60177
there's a lot of changes in this building. It is changing for the worst, care here sucks. I have been asking my mom to have restorative care but it fell on deaf ears. No one informs you what's going on with mom's care. The lady that handles the bill is always not available or not in the building. Customer care is very poor. New social worker doesn't seem to know anything. Nursing director and administrator is useless…The building has lost it's luster..

My mom came here from rosewood after her Medicare was almost used up and I needed long term placement. They take Medicare and you can transition to public aid after. The move was seem less and mom is very happy. Sometimes when I come to pick her up she prefers to stay home as she calls it. The girl who does the books got her on public aid and took care of everything. I would recommend.
Rosewood Care Center of St Charles Saint Charles, Illinois 60174
My father was transported to Rosewood after hip surgery. A visit made me feel good about placing him there. My first visit afterwards was the total opposite of what I had seen on my tour. Two food trays were stacked on his tray table out of his reach. They were dropped off and left there, along with a water pitcher. He was left in bed all day, and not been fed or given water. When I asked if he was given his medication, they couldn't tell me if he had or not had it. There was no record of any input of food or water. When I requested a dinner tray, it was supplied. As I waited, I watched the service in the assisted dining room. Patients were struggling to reach their food and drinks because their wheelchairs had not been pushed close enough to the table. The only ones who received assistance eating were those who could not move their arms. I fed my father and went home with a heavy heart.
The next day after doing further research on this establishment, I left work to make arrangements to move him to another facility. When I arrived that morning, he was in a wheelchair facing a wall near the nurses' station having come supposedly from physical therapy. His dentures were not in, his shirt was buttoned wrong, and his hair uncombed. We had ordered phone service and the phone sat on a table unplugged, again out of his reach. I met with the head nurse, who again could not tell me if he had eaten or received his medications. How does that happen??? I made transportation arrangements to move him immediately. No family should place a loved one in this place. My father was a successful businessman in his life, and to see him treated so poorly because he was old and didn't have the strength to complain made me sick to my stomach. I told the entire staff they should be ashamed of themselves, and they should. He passed away several weeks later in a caring and loving place.

The living conditions at this facility are ridiculous, the adult briefs are cheap which cause skin rashes. The nursing home is understaffed according to one of the nurses aides i spoke with a month ago when i came in to visit my mother. Two nurses aides to sixty-five residents at night, the other two shifts only have four nurses aides. Most of the nurses aides are rude and appear to have extremely poor work ethic. I wish i knew the level of organization this facility had, resident to cna/nurse ratio, along with staff experience and material quality/ availability, prior to admitting my mother.
Bria of Geneva Geneva, Illinois 60134
There is not enough help and the staff is constantly changing. This prevents a relationship to build between the staff and residents. The CNA's lack common sense, such as putting call button near resident, keeping water glasses full. They don't take care of residents items and leave room messy. Not happy at all but don't know what to do. Not easy to move resident. It's hard for them to accept change. Very stressful.
