this facility is very old & in desperate need of updates! the showers are absolutely horrid-not only are they filthy but they are so small that it is impossible to get some of the residents into them. a friend of mine actually said that the shower room reminded them of the gas chambers that Hitler used. if your loved one is on the overweight side &/or has limited mobility, this is NOT the facility to use. they just do not have the staff or equipment to give the care needed. they have a hoyer lift but most of the staff do not like to use it. the lift does not go up high enough to put the residents into the bath tub. they also do not have the slings for the lift with a hole cut out to put the resident on a toilet. this is very inconvenient for persons who are immobile but not incontinent. a bed pan is "cruel & unusual punishment." it sometimes takes them over an hour to respond to a call light. if you think you or your loved one will have regular access to the local doctor or pa, think again. they are apparently too busy to actually visit the residents. they generally just go with whatever the RN or LPN on duty says. this facility has really outlived its usefulness. I do not recommend this facility to anyone!
