Have a family member in this nursing home. Am located out of town and have never spoken to her via phone. Have caller over 15 times. Each time I call, I am placed on hold for more than 5 minutes, only for someone to get on the phone and give me an excuse on why I can't speak to my family member. By the way, the music that plays while on hold, is not desireable (to say the least). Just recently I was placed on hold and heard, what seemed to be a receptionist (female) on another line saying "Why the f_ _ _ are you worried about what happens in my home? I am about to hang up the phone." then another person replies…"where you on the phone." They laughed. Then she asked "who were you talking to". Wish I could have heard how that conversation ended but the person who placed me on hold, returned to the line. Again telling me why I couldn't speak with my family member. The residence do not have phones in their rooms, nor do they have cordless phones to take to the residence when receiving a call. They have 4 residents to each roo (seems over-populated). If this is the treatment I get when calling, I could only imagine how the facility is being ran. Are they taking care of my family member? I often cry myself to sleep even thinking about it, as we cannot afford to have the family moved. Hard to believe that in this day and age, we have placed noncompassionate individuals in positions to care for our loved ones during what may be thier last days on earth. My family member is a kind and loving person in desperate need of care and has always taken care of others. The present situation they are forced to be in is unfair and cruel. If you could avoid using this nursing home, I caution you to do so. RUN….RUN….RUN
