Well first thing i would like to say is the nurses dont change peoples diapers like there soiled so if u bring your family here expect this for sure; second thing id mention is when your family needs therapy they dont really do that they get them out of bed to sit In front of TV my family still isnt better & was at this facility for 45 days third thing is your family needs more time & u have to work with front office people about assistance helping u getting him placed there is like a act of congress there names are marsha or Deborah williams they will argue with u & not get a thing accomplished forth thing i would say is clothes can never be found with or without there names. Over all I'd have to say this place is no good for no one not even a homeless animal. So please if u have other options go with the others unless u don't care.

My mother has been at Rosemont for almost two years. While the CNAs and support staff are caring, they are extremely overworked. The staff-to-patient ratio is among the highest I've seen. Even when census (head count) numbers were up, they kept the ratio at the absolute maximum limit allowed by the State of Georgia for months instead of adding staff as their occupied bed numbers increased.

As a matter of fact, if it weren't for the CNA staff, a couple of the charge nurses and their commitment to the patients, I would have relocated my mother to another facility in 2014. They work tirelessly and accommodate me to the best of their abilities. However, they simply are saddled with too many responsibilities and too many patients most times. My mother has had three UTI's (urinary tract infections) in the last 18 months!

The meal quality has declined, as I don't think they have a permanent Dietician at this time. The two cafeterias closest to the main entrance are well maintained during daytime business hours. This is when the families of potential patients are given tours. However, many evenings -- shortly after the dinner hour in particular -- the front entrance halls smell of feces or urine, because the small evening staff hasn't had a chance to change patients and get them ready for bed yet. They are too busy emptying the cafeteria of patients and piling them up in front of the nursing stations.

Most importantly, the wound care at this facility leaves a lot to be desired. Again, because staff members are stretched so thin, they simply are overwhelmed with duties designed for far more people.I have witnessed quite a few seasoned and capable employees leave to go elsewhere because of the workload and pay.

If your parents are at Rosemont, be there often and be vocal about the deficiencies in staffing and visitation accommodations (such as chairs or love seats for family members to sit on while chatting with a loved one)! Remember, THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE OIL!

Both of my parents have been residents at Rosemont since November 2013. I visit them almost every day, and at different times during the day and evening. Having said that, I believe that I can provide a fair assessment. My 94-year old father is very happy there. He sometimes complains about the food but enjoys interacting with the staff and residents. He very much likes being able to move freely through the facility and within the interior courtyards. My Mom is confined to a wheelchair with moderate Alzheimer's disease. She receives a great deal of attention from all staff and clearly feels safe and cared for.

I am always contacted about any changes in medication or concerns. Also, the nurse practitioner has always responded to any concerns regarding my parents' health.

Rosemont at Stone Mountain is a Nursing Home at 5160 Spring View Ave, Stone Mountain, GA 30083 Had Hoyer lift dropped on relative leg, then complaint about pain was dismissed for two weeks. When Rosemont finally took complaint serious and did x-ray at their facility, Rosemont said that leg was fractured, but two other medical facilities stated that there was a major bruise. Yes, glad there was only a bruise. Rosemont ran out of heart meds that was needed after five-part heart surgery. There are other issues I can recall, but my point is these folks at Rosemont are incompetent.

My family became aware of Rosemont when we were searching for a new nursing home for both of my parents. They had been staying in a beautiful nursing home, with very abusive staff and administration (looks can be deceiving). When we first toured Rosemont, immediately we felt a welcoming warmth from the administrative staff, and a sense of "hominess" as we continued the tour and observed residents and nursing staff.

Having both of my parents there for two years now, I can tell you that our choice to relocate them to Rosemont was the best decision. The administrative staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. They cater to the residents' needs, as well as those of the family. Every staff member from maintenance to nursing, dietary, laundry, etc., cares about the residents and take great effort in maintaining their safety and health, as well as their happiness. It's commonplace to see all staff interacting with residents in a positive, upbeat manner! The Activities department keeps the residents engaged, and offers daily activities as well as trips off-site for entertainment and dining.

The facilities are clean and there are no unwanted smells (and that includes cleaning products that can be offensive and unhealthy). The daily menu is appropriate for aging individuals - healthy and tasty. Fruits and other snacks are available throughout the day for the residents.

Most importantly, we have had no medical/health issues with my parents. Visiting doctors and their staff are quick to address and treat any concerns they find, or that families bring to their attention. There have been no bedsores or any kind of neglect. Nursing staff has been attentive, interactive, and knowledgeable.

If you are looking for a nursing home that provides total care for your family member, I would certainly recommend Rosemont at Stone Mountain and the warm family environment it provides.

The facility is largely custodial. Residents have virtually no activity options other than TV in cammunal viewing areas. Few if any planned activities are provided. WHile the nursing staff is caring, it is largely unskilled. A nurse practitioner seems to be given free rein to order tests and medications. This can result in conditions being unrecognized and untreated and redidents being under or over medicated. As long as a resident is quiet and makes no demands, they are allowed to lie in bed or sit in a chair with no stimuilation or interaction. Residents are rarely seen by a physician. fdesidents unable to feed themselves are sometimes not fed and trays taken away untouched. The fcililty is clean and nursing assistants seem caring, but leadership, supervision and medical care are lacking.

I have spent many hours and many days at Rosemont visiting my grandmother. Before choosing Rosemont, we visited and evaluated many nursing homes all over metro Atlanta.

The cons would be that the beds are crank, not electric. If your loved one needs extensive therapy, there is no sophisticated modern equipment. The therapists, however, are very good and dedicated.

Pros: excellent, dedicated and caring staff. The nurses and aids and supporting staff always seemed to go beyond the call of duty. All other staff, from maintenance, to kitchen, to laundry is just as wonderful and all work together--if anyone sees a patient in need, about to fall, or having a problem, they stop and help or get help.

Aids keep patients clean and dry, changing them 6-8 times per day or more, and my grandmother's skin has never broken down. They are not left in bed and there are plenty of activities to keep them stimulated. The residents seem happy and content.

The facility is bright, spotless, no unpleasant odors, and has a nice enclosed courtyard for residents.

Administration is great and we have been surprisingly pleased with all. Even long time residents tell me they have been well treated and seem to have no serious complaint.

Dirty, no activities, patients over-medicated, everything of value (including clothes and SHOES) stolen from my grandmother. She had a UTI that went untreated for weeks because the lazy staff said they were waiting on lab work - baloney - that test takes 10 min. Shame on them for leaving a 92yo woman in pain!

My Dad has been here for over a month and the services that they provide here, the quality of attention, and all of the staff have been above and beyond our expectations. The property is very attractive and well kept, the food is high quality and the rooms are very clean and well maintained. They have dinning rooms you can feel right at home in, when you want to dine with your loved one…which we do quite a lot…someone is there with him every single day…they even provide meals for you, upon request…of course for a price…We like to bring food in and enjoy a family style meal…there is also a kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave…They have living rooms you can take your loved one to and sit around and feel as though you are at home in your living room! The views out each double window from the private rooms are exceptionally beautiful…and it has been a pleasure to take my Dad outside on walks in his wheelchair around the beautiful pond area. They also have a gazebo area where you can sit and enjoy the outdoors and there is a gas grill beside it. Overall the experience here is just like being at home, yet with all of the care that he needs and cannot get at home. All the rooms are private and there is a recliner in each one, if you want to spend the night…which is important I think…They have many activities planed, only my Dad is not able to attend these…I hope this home is still around when I need this type of care! I just wanted to leave a review, as I am surprised no one else has yet…

The stars won't allow me to give a lesser rating, but, If I could give them zero I would. If your loved one can't walk TO the phone, you will not be speaking with them. That is if you are lucky enough to not get one of the many rude impatient people answering the phone (usually they just don't answer) The care is minimal and not done in a "caring" manner. My dog was treated better at the dog pound than my mom was here.
