Review of Parkside Post Acute and Rehabilitation

4 Star User Review

My mom has been in this facility for over 3 years now and while there was a few month stretch late last year to early this year (prior to and just after Septer aquired the facility) we have both been extremely happy with the care mom has received. When mom was first place at "Parkwood" I have to say it was totally the best place around and then the place went a bit down hill right before the change in ownership, there have still been some issues since the new owners (Septer Health & Rehab) took over but they address the problems quickly and efficently. Overall I have been extremly pleased with the nursing staff to include CNA's. My real complaint is the kitchen staff and the way the feeding schedule goes along with poor quality food at times (is getting much much better since Septer took over)but still has room for corrections, they also need to make sure the food served is the temp it should be which is a huge issue and they seem to be extremly disorganized when placing the trays on the carts as I know most of the time my mom will wait a full 20-30 minutes after her room mates are served (they eat in their rooms) until she receives her tray…makes little to no sense. The rehab team has been super everytime mom has had rehab and while there was a period of time with a lot of turn over in the nursing staff/cna's that seems to have slowed down now and we have a really great team again. Anyone that thinks this is a bad place should go visit the one on Lester Rd. in Lilburn…now that is a bad nursing home with abuse…you will not find abuse here and if you ever are unhappy call Zack right away and get him involved! That is what he is there for and he will get to the bottom of any issue you have big or small.

Is this a perfect place like your loved ones home??? Likely not but then we are unable to care for our loved ones ourselves or they would not be here so the best thing to do is visit often call and speak to your loved one every day if possible and make yourself known, attend the family meetings and voice your opinions and your concerns, get to know the staff and let them get to know you, decorate your family members room so they feel at home and less stressed and as I said before call Zack if you need anything at all he will address your concerns I promise no matter how little they may seem (I know this 1st hand).

Good luck and stay involved!
