Review of Pruitthealth - Lilburn

3 Star User Review

We had to put our 86 year old father in nursing home in January of this year and after looking at numerous ones in the area, we arranged for him to go to Heritage Lilburn.

Regarding the staff: the staff Social Worker assigned to us was great, very pro-active if we needed anything and always willing to answer any questions and provide reassurance to my mom (she cared for dad at home for the previous 4 years). The aides are overworked with assignments that, while they kept my dad clean and bathed regularly, they often forgot to give him his teeth during the day that he would eat breakfast/lunch without them. But they did keep him clean, he was never left to sit in a solid diaper. The RNs, day shift weren't very friendly but the afternoon were great and mom appreciated the time they spent in updating her.

some of the drawbacks:

appearance both inside and out needs work-looks like an old school from the outside and a lot of the ceiling tiles inside are stained. The equipment is old/dated. My dad's bed was broke for several days (won't go up/down) that they had to move him to another room until it was fixed. Food isn't very appealing to look at, I never tasted it but based on looks alone, it left much to be desired. While they would wash/return his shirts, we had to had to buy new socks as those items weren't return even with his name written all over them.

Anyone who has had to make the decision to put a beloved family member into a home knows that they are not going to get the level of care as they did at home, but Heritage staff did their best and always treated my father, mom and family with the upmost of respect and dignity. Most of the nursing staff had been there for several years and that speaks volumes that they don't have monthly turn over. Its a tough decision to make and Heritage isn't perfect but for the time that they cared for my dad, they did right by him and us. My father passed away March 1st.
