Review of Sandgate Gardens Rehab and Nursing Center

2 Star User Review

As far as care, it is a wonderful facility. As far as some of the management, it doesn't warrant a star. Mr. Ainsley, who is the one who takes care of Medicare, etc., actually hung up on me. He stated that, "he was doing me a favor" by taking are of Medicare paperwork for a patient there. When it was determined the patient was to become a resident, I was asked to forward a copy of her last 3 bank statements, which I complied with right away…Mr Ainsley contacted me again and said he needed these statements. I told him they were in the facility, but sent them back to him again. This man wanted to know about the patient's husband…if he would have done his homework, he would have know the husband passed away almost 3 years ago. Then he told me I needed to send a check for $6,000+, my sister came in and handed him the check personally. When he called me again he didn't even know he had the check. Next I was supposed to come in for more paperwork, and he was going to be gone the week I would come in, so I was told to talk to his assistant. She so kindly went over everything, said everything was in order, would submit all the paperwork and I gave her a check in the amount of $1,168.34. She said I would probably have to pay this amount next month, which I just receive a bill for. Now I get a call from Mr Ainsley that Medicare was denied…when I tried asking him questions, he got very irate, said "he did paperwork as a courtesy" ?? and hung up on me because he didn't want to argue.
