Review of Carlton Shores Health and Rehabilitation Center

This home was good under old ownership. Now both the care and the billing are am mess. They make harsh rules but give bad advice and our mom has been given bad meds, checked for repeated infections, had many problems and getting return calls from Dr.'s is almost impossible. While there are good people there, they are not running it. We were actually advised to ignore bills not paid by her insurance and assured they were covered and as a result now are facing court cases. They ignore power of attorney and health care at times and most of all we have waited over 45 minutes when requesting attention for her while people are standing at desks, in the hall and simply just talking. Wish the old owners were still there. We chose carefully based on review, visits and speaking with the staff that was there and now she is stuck because it is hard to move her to another facility. They are under construction but I wish they knew that the building is not what makes good care. No matter how shiny if someone is at risk of choking and left alone….a great room does not matter.
