  • Life Care Center of Citrus County Lecanto, Florida 34461

My father has been at this rehab center for 2 weeks. He is a "difficult patient". The day after he arrived, he told me that if I did not take him home, he was going to call the police to get out of there. He complained that he needed to be close to the bathroom, his TV had no remote, he didn't get vaseline to his legs three times per day, the physical therapist was not paying attention (she asked him to lift the weight 20 times and didn't sop him before he got to 30), etc…He did acknowledge that his nurses and patient care assistants were very nice. I proceeded to bring all his concerns to the attention of the staff. They were very helpful and accommodating. They made sure to correct every issue to my fathers satisfaction. He was very happy thereafter, and stayed to complete the rehabilitation therapy he needed. I have been a nurse for 35 years and have seen a lot. This facility has a wonderful group of caring people. Every single employee that I came upon was a joy. I commend and highly recommend this facility for your loved one. Just let them know what you need and they will surely try to oblige you. If they can keep my dear dad happy, they can keep anyone happy. I am confident that my fathers condition has improved so that he may resume the life he lived prior to his hospitalization. Without Lifecare, he would have needed assistance with every aspect of his normal activities of daily living. Thank you Lifecare!

The only positive things to say about this place is the building is beautiful and food not bad. The staff appears miserable and overworked. The nurses seemed especially overloaded which seems dangerous. Staff was constantly overheard bad mouthing each other by myself, other family members and my father--- the patient. My father's neighbor fell and broke something and staff was never increased after the incident. If there was an option to give negative stars, I would. Do not let the pretty building and phony people fool you!!! I would never trust this place to care for a loved one again

  • Health Center at Brentwood Lecanto, Florida 34461

This is a joke for a rehab center. Stay clear of Brentwood because you will have to be there to protect and take care of your loved one if they cannot speak or get up on their own. We have to be there to make sure she gets rehab and call to get update reports daily. The doctors are not very good at responding to the patient's needs there. We have to contact them ourselves and threaten to call Medicare. It's a nightmare. The weekends are horrible….very short staffed and NO therapy. They should shower people twice weekly, but if you are not on top of things, it may not happen but once if you are lucky. Our mother had a stroke and she cannot speak or get up alone. We have had to do the job of the staff on a daily basis as far as mother's ADL's and following up on her care. I should have done more research but I thought all rehabs were the same…WRONG! Stay away from this place…it's a nursing home, not rehab. Now I am having a hard time having her transferred.

My mother was a guest here 3 times. In 1995 at the age of 70 she suffered a broken hip and after a 3 week in-residence stay and some follow-on visits for physical therapy she was back to ballroom dancing in 6 months! The encouragement of the nurses, therapists and other staff helped her to a quick and full recovery. 7 years later after a TIA and subsequent fall, she again stayed for in-residence care. In addition to the therapists, nurses, CNAs, the facility staff that took her to appointments, the persons in the hair salon and the volunteers in the Ice Cream Parlor gave her an active social life and helped in her recovery. In 2012, she became an extended resident due to a TIA that caused some vision loss and some mobility loss. Through it all, the care has been very good with personal attention. I would wholeheartedly recommend this facility for rehabilition care.

Excellent care by far. Not just for hip or knee therapies, or learning how to speak again after having a stroke, but for the staff, who are honestly kind, and honestly caring. The added benefits of home cooked food, live entertainment, and MY quiet time in my own "little suite" is WHY …I am a "frequent flyer" here. Not to mention the comfort of an over-sized recliner, color tv, and fridge, makes my family and friends feel comfortable to visit.

Horrible treatment of Alzheimer's patient. Extensive unnecessary use of chemical restraint. Provided minimal physical rehab or occupational therapy. Some Staff made fun of patient as reported to family by other patients. Left in hallways all day. Extensive use of Ativan, lorazepam, and other narcotics. Some staff has no training in Alzheimer's treatment. They lost expensive hearing aids and clothing. Left in soiled diapers. Glad we were able to rescue him and find a proper treatment facility. Family given false and misleading information. Wish could report them for abuse and neglect. To be sure some staff as individuals were great but overall poor treatment. Gave other facilities false misleading information to hinder transfer. Finally found a specialist who agreed to personally asses patient and got immediate relief in form of transfer.
