I am struggling to understand how a facility can manage a new admission without there medical records. My mother was admitted and in a 3 week period lost 15 lbs and got a skin breadown Stage 2. The attending physician Dr. Schweitzer did not request a more thorough review of the issue. The family was in contact with the social workers, the nurse on the floor and expressed sevearl concerns regarding specific medication that was administered that may be causing the side effects that may have contributed to the weight loss. This fell on deaf ears.The family has been very involved can you imagine what might happen if a patient had no advocate. In this instance the family was pushing to get anwsers and it will get resolved, however the facility was NEGLECTFUL. This situation was AVOIDABLE. Person comes in with a borken hip and loses 15 lbs. in less than 3 weeks and has a bedsore tells you that her care was not managed and it was NEGLECTFUL.
