I found the Windsor Health Care Center to be dirty and patients rooms messier than they should have been. Clothes and 'things' piled so high on the bed there was hardly room for the resident and piles of 'things' on the floor (including open and dripping soda cans, ice tea cans and trash strewn on the floor that had failed to make it to the trash can). Dirty food trays with so much debris on them there was scarcely room for a food tray. The staff is inattentive to patients needs and defensive when asked to help out. Patients sometime smelling of urine and beds unchanged for long periods of time even though staff has been asked to change both the bed and the resident. Residents (the ones I visited) were always dehydrated and those who needed to be helped with feeding were seldom helped, food got cold and then was simply thrown away. Residents often seem drugged and incoherent, slurring any words they try to say and not making sense of what they are actually able to say. A resident smoker was told she had the right to smoke but was denied help in getting out to the smoking area when she could not make it on her own. The food is terrible but I am told they are working on make it better ~ time will tell.
