Wonderful Facility, wonderful location, wonderful staff. The facility staff from Administration on down make you feel welcome and important. The nursing staff is attentive, kind, caring and most of all patient. Even the food is great. They have a great program that offers 5 meals day with more choices than I can count. If I had any complaints it would be that they offered too much food! The Therapy department as wiell was excellent during my stay - they wanted to make sure I pushed myself to get home safely and were attentive to any pain needs I might have. Bear Creek certainly changed my perception on what nursing home are like. This place was practically a resort. The grounds are beautiful and in the evenings a herd of deer walks though the yard -- so peaceful. The building is a little old, but they have updated the rooms on rehab and it was clean. The rooms where people live vs get rehab could probably use a little updating - but again they apeared clean to me.

My aunt is currently a patient at BC. 20+ years ago, I volunteered there as an ombudsman, which is a laison between the funding agency and the nursing home. Then and now, I have found the home to be friendly, clean, efficient, well-organized, have many activities available, and generally a positive place to be, given the nature of nursing homes.

My aunt, who is definitely cognizant of her surroundings, likes this place and is glad to be here.

We were very impressed with the facitily when we visited. Occupants seemed happy and free to move around as they wished. The doors locked which was important to us as our mother has memory issues and we did not want her to be able to leave. Admissions director was very helpful and was able to get us admitted quicker than I had expected. The shared room we were given was directly across from the nurses station. It was nice considering Medicaid is covering the bill. The doctor we met who performed some intake paperwork was great. She indicated that she just lived up the street and seemed very genuine. When we left we felt that we were leaving our mother in good hands. Our mother took a fall and broke her hip just a few days after her arrival- it was at 6 pm during popcorn and movie night not from any type of abuse.
