I moved my folks into this place back in October 2014, hoping that it would be a good fit. For awhile it appeared that things were working out just fine. Little did I know that it was all about to change. Two weeks ago, I was told that they had to move, because they were deemed a safety risk. They told me that my parents tried to get out the back door into the parking lot. What really happened was that my dad opened it, just to check out the weather. They never went outside. Dad didn't realize that he had lost all of his independence, and was virtually slapped on the wrist. They also didn't like my mom taking the elevator to different floors to walk. They have always been active and outdoor people…and in no way did they try to escape. Dad understood why they were concerned and certainly didn't want trouble. All they got was one strike and you are out…no second chances, here. They changed their name to Courtyard Care Center…so be aware. They have a courtyard, but nobody is allowed to use it. If your family members are mobile at all, this is NOT the place for them. Some of the staff members were very nice, the administration (with perhaps one exception)…are very unforgiving.

My mother-in-law came here for what she thought was a rehab stay, she didn't recover well enough to go home, but she daily raved about the care given to her. She had staff that knew her well and visited her daily. She felt like she was at the senior center & enjoyed the constant interaction. She passed away about a year later, but her end of life care with the facility and hospice supplement were fantastic. This is the only place I would send a family member.

my mother was sent to the "PARC" building about a month ago after hip surgery. The nurses never delivered my mom's medications on time and it took what seemed like forever for them to anwser her call light. I had to help her into the bathroom myself more than once because she couldn't wait any longer. This is VERY upsetting considering when I went to the nurses station there were nurses sitting around shooting the breeze. I know what resonsiblities nurses have because I am one! I never saw a single staff member wash their hands before or after care and sadly enough I do believe that this was the cause of my mom's staff infection! I was told that Larchwood was the best but they proved everyone wrong. This facility goes to show that looks are not everything and I will NEVER reccomend Larchwood to anyone! not even to my enemies.

Just like any nursing home we checked out for my dad, it has its flaws. We had previously moved my father from two different local nursing homes because of an obvious lack of attention to details but this place was different in the fact that i knew these people GENUINLY care and LOVE the people they take care of. I visited everyday and it took a big burden off of my mind to know that my dad was in more than capable hands. A special thanks to nurses Jordan, Granny, Betty, Leah, Donny, and Carol.

This is a poor facility. My grandmother was there for the last days of her life in 1996. She was cognizant of everything but paralyzed on one side. She was put in a cramped room with no window and nothing on the walls to look at.

My dad was sent there several weeks ago for "rehab" after knee surgery. He was given medication for conditions he doesn't have by nurses aids who don't speak American. When he objected, they tried to force him to take it. The place reeks of foul odors. What they put out as "food" smells chemical and is rubbery. Dad was unable to keep anything down the five days he was there. He became so weak that he shook violently and was unable to raise his arm yet the staff insisted he be put through therapy.

Nursing staff gave him Milk of Magnesia for vomiting and blew off all requests for easily digested nourishment so he could get some strength. The air conditioning wasn't working right so the room was hot all the time.

My brother finally sprung my father from this prison on a weekend by calling his doctor at his home. Larchwood isn't a good place to go even if you're ready to die.

I believe this place to be the worst place to put your loved one,s. This place does not care about there people in any way. They will let them be sick and hurt and do nothing for them. The Nurse's and not friendly nor are any of the other people that work there. There meals are never what you order and is never served HOT. I truly believe that this place needs to be shut down for good. Please Please do not put your loved ones in this place.
