  • Manorcare Health Services - Boulder Boulder, Colorado 80301

My dad was in ManorCare of Boulder for 28 days following his second hospilization within a 2 months time frame, and a diagnosis of CHF. The staff and therapists at ManorCare of Boulder were excellent in the care they provided. We felt like they were working with us towards our goal of having him be able to return home (unlike the staff at the previous rehab-PowerBack- he was in after the first hospilization, whose only goal seemed to be to "move him upstairs to the long-term facility". I love the weekly meetings ManorCare holds with patients and family members. It is nice being able to discuss care and options with the entire team at once, rather than trying to track people down to get questions answered. Emily was wonderful and very supportive in arranging palliative care after my dad returned home. We felt like the staff at ManorCare truly cared about my dad as a person, and about his recovery, rather than just the $$ he was bringing in. Even though ManorCare of Boulder is further away from us than a couple of other rehab facilities covered by my parents insurance plan, we will definitely choose ManorCare again if the need arises. They come highly recommended by us.

Horrible, if a zero star rating was available its what I'd give. They drugged and neglected my loved one. I would let the phone ring for 45minutes without being answered. No one cares about anything going on there including the administration. I would never recommend anyone to go there. The nurse lied to my face about things i had discovered were going on. My loved one wasn't bathed or put in clean clothes for a week.

My elderly mother spent 2 months at Boulder Manor/ Flatirons Rehab after fracturing her hip. The care provided in the Flatirons rehab varied from excellent to abysmal, and I believe the rating should reflect the worst. Some aids would hide to avoid providing help to patients, and it once took 45 minutes to answer the nurse call button (and only after 2 actual visits to the nurses' station). The staff could also be quite helpful and friendly at times, but the communication was almost non-existent. I was given 4 hours notice that they planned to move my mother, and this was halted only after my most vehement protests. When they did move her at a later date, they started an hour earlier than they told me, and when I arrived 30 minutes early I found my mother, who has advanced dementia, in the hall alone, confused and crying, being consoled by a volunteer. The communication among staff and patient's family is incredibly poor. My calls to staff (nurses, OT, business office) were rarely returned. "Care conferences" mostly consisted of telling me what care they planned to cancel, and how much they would charge me once my mother's medicare insurance ran out. I strongly urge readers to find other rehab facilities and nursing homes, even if it means a wait for a room to open.

I liked everything about the place except the food. I canĀ“t believe a professional dietition was in charge of the kitchen. The vegies were always overcooked, the meat was often stringy and there wasn't very many appitizing meals. .

Outside of that, it's a very nice place. I thought the nurses were very competent, the physical therapy people were well trained and lovely people. They went out of their way to work with you and get you back in shape and I though the hospital service was fine. Someone always came in less than 5 minutes when you put on your call light and the place is attractive.

Not enough staff members! My mother was there and there was one nurse for over 20 patients and usually only one CNA. My mother was forced to sit in urine for close to an hour on numerous occassions because the staff members were overworked. The staff was very nice when available, but availability was an issue. We will not use this facility again!

I believe that the management team does not support the staff and thus makes the staff not like their jobs, but we all have to work so they stay there. I had a family member there on North and she was taken well care of, however, the DON was the worst women to deal with ever, I do not even think that she is qualified to do the job position that she is in. She lacks in all education and management ways and should not be the DON at any facility. The manager on this unit was great, she was always available to answer questions and I saw her on the floor always helping her team out. She was nice and well respected when she was talked about by the other staff and other residents. I will never put my family members here again.
