Review of Northbrook Healthcare Center

1 Star User Review

NorthBrook is owned by Ensign Corp. It is a state run ghetto of Nursing Homes. The CNA and Nurse turnover is like a revolving door. It's not uncommon to wait up to an hour for a call light to be answered. The medical equipment used here is beyond cheap. They treat you more like being in a prison here. The administration are all related you have daughter working for mother,so on. Drs. come in once a month listen to you breathe then leave. An order can take up to a month to fill, and you need an order for everything. Steer clear from this hell hole at any cost.

It's not the facility's fault or poor work ethics that cause the requirement for an "order for everything". This is a State and Federal regulation, that ensures that the physicians and nurses are communicating and aware of what is happening with the patients. No one is being held as a prisoner there, those responsible for themselves or the family that make decisions for them are free to leave at any time. Call lights are answered in a reasonable amount of time, specific rooms just never turn off, because the patient refuses to do so. How is what YOU think about the type of visit the physician makes, a reflection on the facility? You sound bitter and like an ex-employee trying to make trouble. While I admit the place isn't perfect, it has been an overwhelmingly positive experience. How can I expect them to do a better job at caring for my grandma, plus 40 other people, than I could do spending 24hours a day with her? They do an impossible job AND have to deal with jerks like the previous poster.
