This is one of the most unpleasant places, as a patient or volunteer you do not want to experience anything that goes on here! My husband was a Patient here several years ago bleeding from a fistula (for dialysis) He was rushed here, no one would touch him until I brought his insurance card ! WOW ! When I did they did not know what to do with him as he continued to Bleed Profusely !! Well I knew exactly what to do I transfered Him to another hospital immediately, on another note, my son decided since this hospital was close to us, to volunteer at this hospital, he was here for a while, until his dad recently passed away (5-12) needless to say for a young teen this was devastating, but none the less he continued to volunteer, missing a few days but never with out calling, Due to school starting up again he has outside school activities and ap classes, the busier the better he says, I agree. He recently has to stay after school for a activity and was running late, so I had to call the hosp. to let them know he would be running a little later than anticipated, Well the person he helps at this hopital literally threw a fit and complained about him, and the hospitals assistant coo Dennis Jarmin in charge of the Volunteer Program at the hospital and also assistant chief operating officier, decided To have a worker at hospital call me and so very nicely let me know that they felt it better for My son to take a break and maybe come back next summer, because they felt he had to much going on with his dad dying and all ! Well needless to say my son was devastated because he actually looked forward to helping out and getting his hours for his resume for college, THINK TWICE BEFORE COMING HERE AS A PATIENT OR TO VOLUNTEER, EITHER WAY YOU WILL BE TREATED WRONG !!!
