When my father first arrived the staff was great, he had to have surgery then returned and since then there has been no communication between staff about instructions given by the doctor, the response time on several occasions has been more than 15 minutes. The was one instance where the CNA did not feed my father and when approached by my sister, the response was "its not a big deal". After this incident we had two more, its extremely frustrating for a rehabilitation who claims to be 5 star.

Villa is simply amazing. Staff is very friendly to both patients and family members. They are always taking that extra step to make all guest feel at home and comfortable. Care is second to none. With so many facilities in the area to choose from, you definitely can not go wrong with Villa!

My mother was recently released from Orange Tree Nursing Center after a two month stay for rehabilitation from a stroke and fall. We chose Orange Tree due to our physician's recommendation as well as positive comments from friends with experience from family member's stays there.

I can only say that her stay was an excellent experience. Upon admission we met with an office staff member and a case worker. They fully explained the financial requirements and what was and what was not provided as well as patient and family responsibilities. We found both the office staff and nursing staff to be very responsive to our questions or requests. My mother's caregivers were very caring and compassionate. We could not have asked for more.

The facility was immaculate. There was no disinfectant odor, which impressed me. This is the first facility of this type that I have seen that had virtually no odor of any kind. The food was excellent. They even had an afternoon "Tea Cart" which came to each room. A thoughtful touch.

Upon my mother's discharge the case worker was very helpful in arranging for home health services and medical equipment. We had to do nothing. We were contacted by the service providers at home to arrange appointments.

As to the one rater complaining about television provisions, we were clearly told that televisions were provided in the skilled care rooms due to the stays there being short term but that they were not provided in extended care. We were told that there were provisions for television in extended care but we would have to provide the actual set. We were given a printed handout with all of this information also. In fact, we were given handouts with all pertinent information at the time of admission. Office staff went over the entire package with us to ensure we understood and had no questions. I might add that my mother is a medicare patient also.

As to the rater discussing laundry problems, we were told to make sure all of mom's items were clearly marked with her name which we did. We had no problems. I do not know if that raters family member's clothing was marked or not.

Overall, both my mother and ourselves (son and wife) were very satisfied with her stay there and would not hesitate to recommend this facility. We even had friends who visited mom remark as to what a nice facility and staff Orange Tree possessed.

Today I was highly insulted by the so-called assistant administrator of Orange Tree Convelescent Hospitial. I was told to provide a TV for my mom who is currently a Medi-cal patient there. The so-called assistant administator actually accused me of fraud when I tried to explain the circumstances that we did not have funds available to purchase the TV for my mom; that all of her funds except 35 dollars go to the facility as part of her shared cost.

This facility has really struggled in the area of customer service over the past months while my mom was a patient there, and reached a new low today by giving the perception of the managment staff being greedy, condescending and inconsiderate of others feelings based on income. This mistep will result in a formal complaint to be filed at the very highest level. Hopefully Orange Tree will understand that all clients/customers are to be treated fairly regardless of their economic status.

In other words, just because a patient is receiving Medi-cal benefits, this is not a reason to discriminate by sub-standard treatment/making false accusations. Bottom line, we as US citizens are all trying to do our best to survive in this bad economy dominated by greed and insensitivity (as perceived in this case). This will not be tolerated. My advise- avoid this facility at all cost.

On the day of our mother's move into the center, we were met with resistance. What we were told and what actually happened on the day of her welcome to the center was completely different. Instead of welcoming her and making this process delightful and easy for her and us, we got a harsh unwanted (not-so) welcome. It was truly a nightmare. The administrator kept looking at us strangely and treated us like we were ignorant.

The only curteous staff that we encountered appeared to be the one's in the dining room. We do not recommend this senior center. This should be a place of calm and relief not a place of the unsure. I expected my mother to be handled in a respectable way. The thought of leaving her in a place where the staff made us and her feel unwanted would have been cruel.

It's important to take care of our elderly. If we are unable to, we must secure a place that will feel just like home for them. This place was not it.

CAUTION: Watch out for missing garments in laundry. If any garment is missing, contact the administrator immediately. Do not go through the normal chain of support as turnaround time is very slow in getting matters of this nature resolved. My mother's robe has been unaccounted for over a week now; it was apparenlty lost in the laundry, resulting in her being colder than usual after showers. Now she is feeling symptoms of a cold, possibly, as a result thereof. She has been a patient at OrangeTree Nursing Center for approx. 3 weeks.

She likes the food very much.

One of the televisions in her room is inoperable. The one that is operable is shared by her room mate and is inferior in quality compared to the flat screen sets in many of the other rooms at the facility.

I had a family member at this facility. It is true first impression is everything from the moment we walked in with him we were received in a very unprofessional manner. This began our unhappy journey with Lifehouse. Out of all the staff I would say that only 2 members truly looked after my family member. The facility had a strong odor, and you had to tell someone what the patient needed about 3 times until it was finally done. The facility was not always clean..the only days we found it clean and smelling fresh was when they were having "special guests" (as they would say at the front desk) in the building. And of course the staff was nice as pie on these days. We only stood for so long because it was the only place that was close to home that had room for our family member. They are now in a better place. We dont go around bad mouthing Lifehouse but when other people ask about homes we are honest with them because we know that everyone wants what is best for their family. Life house unfortunately was not for us. I suggest you ask around because some families came from life house as well and have even worse stories to tell. Overall I feel that the staff could be a bit better at their job and the facility should be cleaner. This might make it a bit more family oriented and other patients might have more visitors who will look forward to being there to visit their loved ones, rather than dreading what they are going to walk in to.

I have seen many in Atlanta and I have looked many in Ca. In GA for my father and in CA. for my mother in law. I inspected for my own personal opinion. My mother in law was there for a short period of time and is now back in the hospital.

    Clean hallways and rooms.

The management does not turn on Air Conditioner till summer to save costs and the same for the heater waiting till it is chilly to turn on heater.

    Employees care.

Have the smarts to call 911 if anything over reaches their abilities.

    Will use again.
