Great place, Wonder nurses and staff…………always doing something to keep the residents active
This place is horrible. The stafff are rude and act very annoyed when you inquire about your loved one. They delay tests to keep the patient in the facility longer or run them on Friday to delay discharge. My mother would push her call button and no one would come for 20-30 minutes. One time someone came in and then told her she couldn't help her now because she had to pass out trays. If a patient is sick enough to be there and needs to push a call button because they can get out of bed don't leave them here because they will not get any help. One CNA got on the phone with me and was so rude and said there you got some information at least you got something and hung up on me!!! I will never allow my mother to go here again.
My mother was supposed to be seen by a doctor 12/27/15, no doctor. On 12/28/15, she was supposed to be seen in the morning. This did not happen. My sister, brother and myself have tried, to no avail, to ask for her condition and bloodwork results. No one can give us an answer. Urgent care sent her there Saturday, because she needed intravenous antibodies for 24hr observation. It is Tuesday and no explanation as to her condition. The doctor is supposed to see her 12/30/15 in the am. My mother left instructions, in writing to be seen, in person by a doctor. I have lost all faith this facility will follow through. As of 12/29/15, she has been taking antibiotics orally. My family is taking her home tomorrow. We will take her to Eisenhower, if necessary. The facility refused to contact her doctor with her medical status, even after I had her complete their form.
Patient care is secondary to making a profit at CNRC. The staff is poorly trained and unfortunately overworked. Not enough staff to cover the increase in patients. Medical Director doing his best to fill beds by recruiting from local hospital without disclosing his affiliation with CNRC. Staff member stated that since the new administrator started, the don't have any empty beds and did not increase any staff coverage. Staff too busy texting and gossiping about patients in hallway to answer call button. Patients wait over 30 minutes for any response. RN was gossiping to another staff member, right outside of patients room and did not answer call button, I was told it was the CRNs job and that she was an RN. Patient was found unresponsive, low BP and dehydrated, family member had to alert RN. LVN/RN thought patient was sleep and didn't want to disturb to give medication. CNA didn't tell RN that patient wasn't eating or drinking. RNs blame CNAs for everything.
Thus place is the worst place for your loved ones. My Dad was there for 2 days and he cried to go home. He pushed the call button to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and no one responded, so my dad got up to try and walk to the bathroom and he fell, he started crawling to the bathroom and didn't quite make it so he he ended up going on the floor. He said he was on the floor for sometime before they found him. He got a very bad bruise on his arm and has an open wound, and his knees are a a little bruised. They also had my dad sitting in his wheelchair with his gown on and no diaper on. We made the decision to bring my dad home rather than leave him in this horrible place. They have no intercom system in place for the patients and when we push the call button it would take the staff about 15 min to respond.
I Had to go into this facility for IV antibiotics for 10 days. I left just after 3 days. First of all, the lobby is a smokescreen. It looks very nice, clean and updated. But that all ends when you get to the rooms. Where shall I start. The rooms look like they haven't been updated, painted or had a thorough cleaning since the 80's. Every light fixture was filled with dead insects. That is gross when your lying in bed and looking up at dead bugs. I was bitten 3 times, while in bed! I called for the nurse and explained and showed her the bites, By then my ankle was swollen. The bathroom, oh my, the bathroom. The vanity counter was broken up. Even the sink was broken in places. Little insects were flying out of hole in sink. The toilet was old and dingy. And by the way, I had a infection which was why I needed the antibiotics.
The food. You get no choice. It is made so unhealthy. You don't get a choice of putting butter on your food, it is swimming in it. When I asked if they could put it on the side or without, the dietician said " we have over 100 patients, we can't give them choices." No salads, fresh vegetables, chicken, or fish. On another note, most of the nurses were very nice.
When my father first arrived the staff was great, he had to have surgery then returned and since then there has been no communication between staff about instructions given by the doctor, the response time on several occasions has been more than 15 minutes. The was one instance where the CNA did not feed my father and when approached by my sister, the response was "its not a big deal". After this incident we had two more, its extremely frustrating for a rehabilitation who claims to be 5 star.
My mother went there for physical therapy, she was there all of 6 days and i think the therapist saw her 3 times .Only walked her a few times to meet state standards and they sent her home . Its a dumping ground for Low income patients. Eisenhower hospital sent her there after 4 days of allot of nothing and seen by a doctor who spent 2 minutes with her and was never seen again. Eisenhower was more concerned freeing up a bed than helping my mom
This is a decent place (clean, base care, nutrition, and physical therapy). However the response to patient needs and requests is non-existence. Whenever a patient asks a question or seeks information, staff stonewall, say "it's going to happen" never giving timelines or explicit information. Going to the front desk and asking for help means that no one will look at you or even respond to you. Patient was in facility for 18 days never seeing the assigned doctor. Administration pretty much intimidated this patient that if they signed out against medial advice the center would call Medicare and the patient would be charged out of pocket (really?) and the center would call and report elder abuse just so the patient would remain at the center. Unbelievably, when the doctor showed up it was determined that the center never notified him that she was a patient. Stay away at all cost. No customer service, staff are overworked and administration focuses on threatening attitudes instead of patient needs. I am so sorry I recommended this center.
I don't think this facility is even worth the ONE star.
Poor service, poor record keeping, poor facility, disgusting food, poor staff, poor care, no attention. If you want your loved one to spiral downward fast, this is the place for them!
I will make it a point to do EVERYTHING I can to have this facility shut down. Management should be ashamed of themselves. The ASPCA has better facilities than this!!!
The kitchen supervisor (her name is Cindy Hernandez) is just the rudest person alive. My father was not suppose to have salt in his food (but got it) because FIRST she's not even qualified for her position as I asked if she was certified and her response was her rolled eyes. SO unprofessional!!! a Danger for the poor patients
I was very apprehensive when Grandma 94 was transferred into this facility, mainly due to the so/so ratings and lack of information available. She is a very alert, functioning 94 year old. Grandma says that she was treated very well while there and that no matter what she asked for she never felt that anyone resented taking care of her. My husband & I visited everyday and we were always greeted with a smile and the facility, while extremely busy was well tended. A nice surprise!!
Hassled to retain patient longer than needed.
Staff neglects sanitary conditions and doesn't even bother to be well informed of new arrival.
Ant are inhabiting utilities near patient bed - need I say more.
Poor administration and management. Nurses are over worked and understaffed. Patients are retained as long as insurance allows regardless of need.
My father was a temporary resident at Country Villas twice. In May 2012 he was admitted for post-op recovery and we were very impressed with the overall care and atmosphere.
In July 2013, my father (91 with Alzheimer's) had surgery and needed post-op care. We had him admitted to Country Villas. Boy, was this a HUGE MISTAKE. In one year, the facility has really declined. Patient care and communication with the family is very poor and/or nonexistent.
In less than a week, my father developed a very bad rash; that the staff didn't notice until we called and informed them of our observations. The nurse call button was usually placed out of reach, clothes were not cleaned (or lost completely) and we were given his Admission forms to sign 10 after he was admitted and just 2 days before he was discharged at our request.
Many of the staff seem uninformed of the patients' condition and usually refer you to another staff member. The Social Services department does not seem to be on the same page as the staff. A casual conversation with a Physical Therapist on patient's condition is considered by Social Services a "family consultation". Other patients are left unattended, were observed trying to leave the premises and pull a fire alarms. Staff had to be notified by another patient's family member.
If you are considering Country Villas for a loved one, think twice and do your research.
The facility is old and and need of repair and renovation. No intercom system for patients to reach staff. Staff response to patients is on average15 minutes. The director of the facility cares more about collecting medicare for his patients than the acatual well being of the patient. This has been expressed by staff as well as patients. He directs employees to holdd off on good reports so they are not eligible for discharge… Needless to say, I could never recommend this facility.
im pretty sure EVERY person working in health care HAS to take the Hippocrates' oath….
doesnt seem like ANYONE there took it,VERY dusty and unsanatory, one of the nurses was VERY rude to my wife….
never EVER send ur loved one there to recover from surgery, they only make things WORSE
The floor-staff are plentyful and are very attentive, and I would have given 4-starts for that. They are the main strength with this well-kept facility. As for the Doctor that makes the rounds in the evening, he is non communicative. After a month's stay (for Mom), we have never met him, spoken with him, nor does he respond to messages left for him. We had to threaten to call Medicare to get any needed changes in medication. The Administrator is a singular person and is a bit overwhelmed at times, although well intentioned and very considerate. She listens and explains things very clearly. The food for the patients is good, but takes forever to serve them (in the dining room) and not very many staff available to feed them if they need it.
Staff is inconsistent and poorly trained. Company seems concerned with pay and not client safety.
The new management, Rockport Healthcare, turned the facility from a patient centered facility to a profit centered facility. Patient safety comes second to pay checks.
My Mom is a patient at PSHC. I visit my Mom usually twice a day, seven days a week, and we both have nothing but great reviews about your staff. Whether it's Admissions, RN's, CNA's, or the entire OT/PT department, we think your staff have been great with trying to work with my Mom in her rehabilitation.
Please tell your staff, especially those I have mentioned, that we appreciate all your efforts.
The staff were attentive, caring and friendly. Food was great. It is crowded and noisy but the staff did their best to ameliorate these issues.
My mom is a patient and this place knowingly knew I didn't want her there charged themselves and paid those lives without her knowledge and consent. They rob you blind. Management here is terrible and the workers underneath are great. I feel for the employees. But management needs replacing. I can't wait to get my mom out of the rat hole
Don't send anyone you love here. This place is a nightmare!
Villa is simply amazing. Staff is very friendly to both patients and family members. They are always taking that extra step to make all guest feel at home and comfortable. Care is second to none. With so many facilities in the area to choose from, you definitely can not go wrong with Villa!
