Review of Rancho Mirage Health and Rehabilitation Center

5 Star User Review

My father was a temporary resident at Country Villas twice. In May 2012 he was admitted for post-op recovery and we were very impressed with the overall care and atmosphere.

In July 2013, my father (91 with Alzheimer's) had surgery and needed post-op care. We had him admitted to Country Villas. Boy, was this a HUGE MISTAKE. In one year, the facility has really declined. Patient care and communication with the family is very poor and/or nonexistent.

In less than a week, my father developed a very bad rash; that the staff didn't notice until we called and informed them of our observations. The nurse call button was usually placed out of reach, clothes were not cleaned (or lost completely) and we were given his Admission forms to sign 10 after he was admitted and just 2 days before he was discharged at our request.

Many of the staff seem uninformed of the patients' condition and usually refer you to another staff member. The Social Services department does not seem to be on the same page as the staff. A casual conversation with a Physical Therapist on patient's condition is considered by Social Services a "family consultation". Other patients are left unattended, were observed trying to leave the premises and pull a fire alarms. Staff had to be notified by another patient's family member.

If you are considering Country Villas for a loved one, think twice and do your research.
