Review of Inland Valley Care and Rehabilitation Center

English not spoken by most staff, contributes to lack of consideration or effective responce to family concerns. Long waits for attention to bed ridden. " Yes sir " " Yes mam " is the standard responce to nearly any question…even if it does not apply. Soiled depends left in trash bin in room. So much more… Dredfull when there is no option.

As someone who was there with my mother for at least 16 hours everyday, for her last 2 months, before she died there, I can attest that this is the truth.

We were lucky to get her changed and turned twice in an 8-hour shift, despite the fact that she had pneumonia and required turning every 2 hours! Many times, I would have to find someone to suction her tracheostomy, and once the request was made, it took up to 45 minutes for them to actually do it! There were times when I even resorted to changing her on my own, without the assistance of the staff! I could go on and on with such unacceptable instances, but I think this is enough for you to get the picture. I actually have photos back up some of my claims!

Of course, in every situation, there are exceptions, and there a rare few excellent staff members, but unfortunately, they are over-burdened and sometimes not able to perform up to their own high standards.

If you want your loved one to survive, this is definitely not the place to consider.

P.S.: She was a Kaiser patient and the Kaiser staff on hand were every bit as lax as the facility's employees. They rarely come to examine the patients, even when the situation merited this. You have to rely on the facility staff to transmit requests to them, which sometimes went unnoticed, and then the staff acted on the orders put in place.
