Patients Personal Rights are not met. If you are a dementia patient and roll into other people you will be kicked out of the facility. Patients are left in wheelchairs all day. Necks hanging. Patients who roll around the building are tilted back at a 45-degree angle with no head support for hours. I am physically fit and could not be left in that position for hours without acquiring a neck ache. Inhumane treatment. If you are not catatonic they will kick you out. Not how a Convalescent Hospital should ever be run. If a business advertises for "Memory Care" then they should support the patients and families. My father rolled around for months and lost 40 pounds. 10 hours a day rolling around in the building.

I have been a patient for Kindred Nursing and Transitional Care many times in the past first time here was back in the year of 2009. My previous stay there I didn't think I was going to make it out. I had been admitted totally debilitated to the point that I had already received a hospice consult. I didn't want to give up and so I went to Pacific Coast to try one more time to get back up on my feet. My stay here was exceptional I have been sick in the past and rehabilitated home but this time around was different. The nurses and CNA were wonderful each and everyone one in the building made me feel safe and comfortable. I did not have any issues with their pain management program. I was placed in a room with another roommate but she was very kind. The room was spacious for both of us. Thank you for all your help Pacific Coast Care!

When we chose this facility we did not have a lot of time to research it. We chose it based on their website. The facility turned out to be very nice and the staff was great. The doctor always called me back when I had a question about my mother. The Social Worker was wonderful. He always took the time to explain everything and seemed to really care about my mother and all the residents. The whole staff was wonderful as well. Going through what my family went through was not easy, but the staff at Kindred made it possible for us to get through it.

Thank you to everyone at Kindred.

I would like to take this time to speak about my care at Pacific Coast Care which began on Aug 12. My wife choose this facility after looking at several others and decided this was the best facility locally. From the time of my arrival, everyone I came in contact with was extremely nice. The following days the therapist contacted me for my occupational and physical therapy. I worked with many different therapists and they all were very encouraging and considerate of my well being. The nursing staff were very empathetic to my needs and were always ready and willing to give me assistance as I requested it. I just want to share that everyone was very professional and was very in tune to my needs. Enclosing, I would highly recommend Pacific Coast care as a facility to be at or have a loved one here for high quality rehabilitation care.

Kindred Care - Pacific Coast provided personal and professional care to my Dad during his last days. I met with the admissions staff, social service and case manager and explained the specifics of what I expected my Dad's care to include, based on his individual needs. All were extremely helpful and passed on the requests to the Nursing staff. The nurses and aides were very attentive and performed their jobs with care and understanding.

We took care of our Mother/in-law at home for 2 years, and decided that we needed the help of a skilled nursing home. Having had wonderful experiences with other family members at Pacific Coast Care, there was no other option for us! "Mom" was a resident for over 5 years. The care given to her was beyond our expectations! The Nurses, CNA's and Staff were excellent, professional and very careing. It wasn't long after "Mom's" admittance, that we considered them a part of our extended family, as they treated our mother as if she were their own. The leval of care has been consistant for many years. The nurses, CNA's and staff loved and respected our mother and we treated them with the same respect and love! ~GREAT JOB PACIFIC COAST CARE~.

Thank you for the care of my brother (Archie Hayes) and his wife Geneva.I feel like every family member my relatives are the most important people in your facility. Your staff made me feel like they were, There were staff members, Beverly RN, Bernard LVN, Anna LVN and Abigail Clerk, that there service was over the top because of the they went about there work. Their attitude was this is not just a job we are caring for very special people with special needs. I would leave there every day with the feeling Arch & Geneva are going to be ok. Thanks again Joe

My mother-in-law recently stayed at this facility for 5 days after knee replacement surgery. The staff is superb from the person at the front desk to the nurses, the nurses aides, maintenance, housekeeping, physical and occupational therapists. The food was our main complaint and thus the four stars. There were too many sauces and gravy on almost every thing served. It might be better to put those on the side, so the patient can choose not to have it on their food. The choices on the menu that was offered in lieu of the daily menu could have been more extensive and more healthy offerings. The building is old, but everyone that works there does their best to make the place cheerful. Our thanks to the employees of Pacfic Grove Convealescent Hospital for taking great care of my mother-in-law.

My mother-in-law has been at Cypress Ridge for nearly two years and we have been very pleased with the way she is taken care of and especially with how well they communicate with us. They call and inform us every time there is a significant change in her condition or even a minor "accident" like a slip and tumble without injury. The office has been very helpful with financial issues (billing, insurance, etc.) , the nursing staff is tops and the Activities director is really caring and involved. The facility itself is lovely and always clean and comfortable. Absolutely nothing negative to report and lots of good things !!

My father is in Cypress Ridge SNF and he has had very good care there since his arrival last month. The nursing staff is great, the staff are all friendly, a sincere and responsive Administrator and wonderful, caring P/T, OT therapists.

The food is OK, they just got a new dietician and the showers are nice, the location is lovely and it is clean.

They hav 5 out of 5 star rating for RN only. This honestly doesnt matter because nothing these nurses do is compaired to a hospital setting. Everytime i go visit my family member i always talk with an LVN. These people are a bunch of liars looking for a quick buck.

I would not recommend this nursing care facility to anyone. We thought that we had made a decision regarding my father's mid-term care - he has Alzheimer's and this is one of the few facilities in the area that has, purportedly, the most comprehensive care. We did not stay long enough to find out.

My father was transferred from Memorial Hospital to the facility a few blocks away. The nurse assigned to the Alzheimer's section was rude, didn't answer questions, didn't listen to us when we were explaining my father's level of comprehension - she also laughed at us at one point. The admitting nurse was dismissive of our concerns when we tried to see what the process was to get my father's full medical history to the facility. We happened to be in the process of dropping my father off during dinner time - the nursing assistants were arguing amongst themselves and tried to force feed my father. My mother had to raise her voice and tell them he wasn't hungry.

This was a very stressful and emotionally difficult situation for my family - I would have thought that this is a situation that is commonly seen at a facility of this type - never did we feel understood or empathized with. The admitting nurse plain out told us - "well, you can take him with you." That is exactly what we did. The only person that was empathetic and tried to repair the situation was the van driver - he went above and beyond to help us - the two nurses could take some lessons from him. In regard to the physical building, wall paper was peeling, the floor was dirty, there was a puddle in the middle of a hallway - overall, a dump. This facility did not inspire the confidence that a family needs to have when facing such a decision.

If you place your family member at this facility, be prepared to serve as a care coordinator to ensure that he/she receives the services ordered by his/her doctor. Specific challenges our family has faced include: a) failure to provide physical therapy seven days a week as ordered by the doctor; b) poor quality food that is not nutritionally balanced resulting in weight loss of our father; and c) failure to adequately monitor our father's oxygen supply -- on three instances the family discovered, not Windsor Monterey Care Center staff, that our father's portable oxygen tank had run out of air during physical therapy and while he was sitting in his room, resulting in a marked drop in his oxygenation levels to the low 70's (90's and above are good) and on one instance, our father was wheeled to therapy without any oxygen (the CNA had removed the oxygen tubing to bath and dress our father but did not place it back on him afterward). Our family has spent well over 75 hours of care coordination/monitoring time at the facility over the past three weeks.

This facility is located beautifully. Amazing views. a few problems. I personally love the afternoon shift but the morning shift seems to be rude and always in a rush. Adminstration is very friendly i love jennifer the activities director shes amazing! They just seem to be all about profit and not about the patients or staff
