I was stuck at Redwood Cove for 2 and a half years. The experiences I had there would give you nightmares. The doctor there is a complete moron who thinks he's God. There were 3 Admins during the time I was there and every one was self centered, egotistical, lazy, uncaring, and worthless to their job. Only there to collect the paycheck. The food is so bad two thirds of all residents lose weight substantially. Repetitive garbage that makes mealtimes depressing. Many of the residents are homeless people right off the street. Some are mentally ill and I don't know why they're even there. One assaulted me for no reason and slugged me right in the face. A roommate snapped and began telling me I was responsible for his wife and daughters death, then started threatening to kill me over and over before they removed him. I would hear women screaming and moaning nearly every single night. It would take up to 45 min sometimes before anyone responded to my call. Read my daughter's full expose on the Redwood Cove Facebook page, if they didn't delete it already. Only send your worst enemies there.

I had a Great Grandma in this facilities 40 + years ago and it was bad. Today this place is 150% better now. The main thing that makes it better is the workers (under staffed), They care for the people as if they are family. The workers is what makes things happen there, My mom is very attended to and for all the different levels of care that these people need, they do a very great job with the limit personnel and resources they have to work with, My one concern is the personnel has been working together very well and now changes are taking place, told not laugh, talk to on another, show no emotions and it is causing great stress on the worker, enough, one quit and more are thinking the same. The staff is what makes this place function, they loose the staff, your rating will be "0". Listen to your staff, they are on the front line and pay is not what keeps them there, it's there dedication.

The personnel are kind and caring and the patients (and their families) are treated with respect. The accommodations are simple but I'd rather have simple with great care than luxury with not-so-great care. My mom has been at Ukiah Health Care since July 2012 and her medical needs are addressed promptly. There is no "nursing home smell" and everything is clean. I'm thrilled she is in a safe and supportive environment. Although my mom wishes they'd bring back the chef they had when she arrived in July.

I been to Redwood Cove twice, I have alway got the best of care. I try to tell everyone about my time their. If you have a bad weight problem like I do, ( have trouble walking and standing) i lost a total of 60 lb and I'm walking and standing a little better before I got there. So I recommend REDWOOD COVE

    Thank You, Becky

Place is clean, food is plentiful, staff is friendly and make it a point to say hello to you by name. I've heard staff talking to the patients about their family members by name, remembering what channels they like to watch and bringing them a snack or favorite drink at the times the patient prefers. With more than 40 patients, this shows a great attention to detail and caring about what each individual needs and likes.

NorthBrook is owned by Ensign Corp. It is a state run ghetto of Nursing Homes. The CNA and Nurse turnover is like a revolving door. It's not uncommon to wait up to an hour for a call light to be answered. The medical equipment used here is beyond cheap. They treat you more like being in a prison here. The administration are all related you have daughter working for mother,so on. Drs. come in once a month listen to you breathe then leave. An order can take up to a month to fill, and you need an order for everything. Steer clear from this hell hole at any cost.

The staff treats elderly as they have no competency or feeling for their living environment. Staff ignores people that are put in the hall. Staff ignores people that call for attentions. People that voice complaints are subdued and tired the next day. Elderly are told to wait their turn for needs and ignored. Staff converses with each other while doing baths, bed changes, toiletries as if the patient was not present. communications with CNA's to the head nurse is ignored. CNA's take blame for RN's mistakes.

A horrible place for any person with a shred of sanity to convalesce. they are ignored, they are let to sit in their of excitements for prolonged periods over 30 minutes
