They are very helpful at getting you into Las Villas Del Norte, but the level of service drops significantly once you become a resident. The level of personalized service in the Heartland Village Memory Care facility is just not there. They cover the basics such as daily vacuuming and bathroom cleaning, but family members need to continue to monitor the services and make frequent requests for additional hygiene assistance such as showers, haircuts, or laundry. And more important, getting regular doctor checkups, although they tell you up front that it is always done on a regular basis. However, medical checkups are only done by request and insistence of the family members. As with any business, there are many good employees, but the overall management focus is obviously on filling beds. Compare the beautiful lobby with the dull, smelly Heartland Village. Ask for a tour and see the contrast for yourselves. They do have a secured, outdoor patio, but it is rarely used and is in disrepair. It is not a resident-friendly outdoor area. Overall, the "caring" lifestyle is not as depicted in the photos on their website. So as not to seem too negative, the most positive feature is the food. Meals are nicely prepared, delivered in a timely manner, and provide a very well-balanced diet. Additional snacks are available on an inconsistent basis. We do not have experience with other memory care facilities, so we cannot make a comparison, only review our experiences at Las Villas Del Norte, and we are not sure if this is an acceptable level of service for $5,000 per month.
