Review of The Rehabilitation Center of Bakersfield

Please review their state licensing inspection before being placed in this facility. Please contact the State Ombudsman Office in Bakersfield or State Licensing in Bakersfield for accurate documentation. My relative was placed in this facility and it was a very negative experience. The directior of nursing was not cooperative, not professional and had no interest in either the patient or the family. The nursing staff was not well trained and dismissed medical issues which caused serious harm to my relative. Fortunately, we strongly advocated for helped otherwise it could of been the end of the life for my relative. My relative had a treatable infection but the nursing home was not cooperative in gettng needed medical care. Also, no activites except bingo. If you have a cognitively impaired person, do not place in this facility because they are not trained to care for them and have no means of socializing or providing activites/stimulation for these type of patients. The patient's just sit all day long with nothing to do but stare at the four walls in their rooms or take their wheelchairs up and down the hallways.

I would not recommend this facility to anyone.
