Review of Parkview Julian Convalescent

4 Star User Review

I recently visited several Skilled Nursing Facilities in Bakersfield that would take my mom’s HMO. I stopped looking when I walked into Parkview Julian Convalescent Hospital. Rated 2 stars, it is an older Facility, it does not have a lot of state of the art equipment, but let me tell you what they do have.

I was struck by the wide well-lighted hallways, sprinkled with congregations of residents and staff. Residents that looked at me, smiled and said hello as I passed by. There was no smell of urine as I walked through the hallways; the rooms were clean and the buzzing of the nurse’s call button was quickly attended to.

Everyone could not have been more helpful. Administration was very informative and helpful. The nursing staff, all of them, from the Aids to RNs were great! Medications were administered on time, kind and patient young women that hand-fed my Mom. They were extremely attentive, gentle and considerate when caring for and moving Mom’s painful body.

The one negative comment I have is the laundry crew’s complete and total lack of consideration or concern with SLAMMING the exit door to the laundry facility. This door does not fit into the door frame properly, GET IT FIXED!
