I refuse to recommend anyone to your center. Not even if someone was desperate to lose their loved one. Because of you a family is missing a loved one!!!

I was sent here after surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital for rehab. Let me say firstly, that I have NO complaints about the rehab services provided. The rooms are teeny, tiny, and way too small for two patients. There were some staff members who went above and beyond expectations, and others who seemed to just be making time. I was provided with a bed side commode which was squeezed between the bed and the wall, and usually changed only after multiple requests and many hours had passed, and after the odor was intolerable. There were many problems about
getting my medicines when I was supposed to. I had no place to sit except for my wheelchair or a straight backed chair, which I could not sit in because of my back. If the bed had not been so bad, I believe I would have improved much more quickly. I was only "allowed" a shower twice a week. My bed was never changed the whole time I was there. I believe many of the problems were caused by under staffing. Once again, many of the staff members did excellent jobs, however, the system made that difficult.
There were long term patients yelling, threatening, wandering around in and out of my room. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

My Experience here has been one of the best ever. I have been in and out of rehabilitation facilities due to accidents on several different occasions. I compare Abercorn Rehabilitation to all of the other places. From Georgia to Florida to North Carolina. I have to say that the Staff here at Abercorn Rehab are the best by far. The Nurses take in depth care of each patient/ resident that are assigned to them. From having the comfort of knowing you have knowledgeable nurses and CNA's who care for you to enjoying an event or gathering in activities." A Winning Team" to offer quality care like no other. We found this center to be very comfortable and was a good experience. The Administrator was compassionate and spent time with us. The nurses were knowledgeable and taught us a lot about her disease. The CNAs were so kind and quick to help. Therapy really helped her to get going again. We were surprised the food was home-cooked and she ate more than she did in the hospital. It was clean and never had a bad odor. We would definitely recommend any of our friends or family to go here for rehabilitation.

After reading the review that ranted and raved about the nurses stealing drugs and the CNA's being lazy, etc. etc., I can only conclude that the person who wrote it is deranged and has a vendetta. Personally I can only say good things about Savannah Rehab. My mother has been there for 18 months and my sister and I are very pleased with her care. The nurses work hard, as do the CNA's. They are caring and compassionate.
Tammy Martin, the director, works long hours and is easily accessed. She always returns my calls and acts immediately if I have a concern. Often Tammy will stop by mom's room when we are there to make say hello and to give mom a hug. One thing that really stands out is when Tammy took time from her busy schedule to sit with mom and help her write a letter to my sister and me. She then mailed them to us. We will treasure this forever.
For the most part, the food is delicious. But if mom is having a moment and decides not to eat what she is served, Ruth who works in the kitchen, stops everything she is doing and fixes mom a grilled cheese and soup.
I would like to address the ridiculous remarks posted in an earlier review. My sister and I are at Sav Rehab almost every day and I have yet to see any nurse "high on narcotics." Mom has never had anything stolen either. I have never encountered a peeping Tom as was said in a previous review. There were a couple of cars broken into but that can happen anywhere - even in your own driveway.
We visit at various times and what we observe is consistent. The staff is taking care of the residents needs, interacting with them and family members. What we have seen is a compassionate and caring staff. Angel, the activities director, goes above and beyond to encourage mom to participate in the daily games and activities.
Of course in a perfect world we would love to keep mom at home, but we are unable to do this. Savannah Rehab has become mom's home and my sister and I are more than pleased with her care.

The CNAs are unprofessional and very unfriendly. Management is very uncaring and rude. Does not care about concerns of the patient's family members. I am truly sorry I allowed my father to go here, but thank goodness he is back at home now. The administrator here is extremely nasty to the patients, their families and her own staff! The building itself including the rooms are filthy and run down. Think twice before allowing anyone you love to stay here.
